acrylic material effects

acrylic casting designs elevated with unique effects

experimenting with acrylic effects

The various effects we all to our designs here at midton add allure and depth to the material through proprietary processes (many of which we have developed and pioneered ourselves).

In-house experimentation and development is constantly creating new and innovative ways of elevating the experience we create when designing unique acrylic products and experiences. If you’re interested in this, you’ll also be interested in our acrylic shape and form page.

playing with light effects with acrylics

There is so much that we can do with your acrylic designs. At its simplest, we can match the colour to your brand. We can also add gradients to create a light effect, frosting a surface to diffuse light or texturing a facet to add a tactile element.

Material effects can help to add an extra layer of depth, meaning or function to your project.

how do we add these effects to acrylic?

There is no easy answer to this as there are many different processes and minds at work at each stage of the process. We combine hands-on sculptural techniques and painstaking finishing processes with complex multi-stage casting and intricate machining.

Many of the effects we create are a collaborative coming together of multiple processes, working in unison to pull off the desired outcome. Take a look at our larger acrylic embedments section and our acrylics case studies.

possibilities of our acrylics…

We’re often asked about the possibilities and limits of our acrylic effects are, and the answer is that there aren’t many… We don’t want to hamper our clients’ creativity; even if we don’t think we can do it, we will find a new method or process! If you’d like to know more about our processes and what we can make for you, please get in touch.
