genre defining ultra-luxury whisky display
A major player in the international malt whisky scene, Dalmore was established 1839 by Alexander Matheson.
With its iconic stag branding, Dalmore brings with it a wealth of history and style. Today it is owned by Whyte & MacKay Ltd with its premium Scottish malts still distilled in Alness in the north of Scotland.
Dalmore is one of midton’s long-established clients, with first contact being made in 2008. The company was at the beginning of a major rebrand and wanted their vast collection of aged malt whisky to be shared with the world. A natural partnership was formed between midton and Dalmore, which has become a long and productive endeavour. The first brief from Dalmore was to create an acrylic display box for the high-end whisky collector’s market in order to showcase their wide range of malt whisky.
As the relationship between midton and Dalmore has developed over the years - so have the whisky box designs and our involvement in designing them.
Quality is a key feature of the Dalmore boxes with a high finish being one of the top requirements. This, combined with the volume of boxes produced per order, makes Dalmore a unique challenge.
As midton’s partnership with Dalmore has developed, more scope for involvement in the design process has emerged, leading to a better working relationship which in turn help us produce the highest quality product for our client.
The future with Dalmore is a bright one with expansion into gifting and the development of brand tools. Together midton and Dalmore have been on a long, and at times, challenging journey, but ultimately is has created an opportunity for midton to step up and expand its knowledge and skill set.
