Sustainable acrylic awards created by Midton for the Scottish Influencer Awards using recycled materials

sustainable AWARDS Case Study
Scottish influencer awards

Creating an award that’s more than an award
– a piece of art

Client: The Vine PR Company
Project: Recycled Awards – A Piece of Art
Location: Glasgow
Manufactured by: Midton, Scotland

Project Brief

Working with The Vine PR Company, the team behind the Scottish Influencer Awards, the goal was clear:

Create an sustainable award that would stand out.

Not just on the night, but across social media, photography, and long after the event. Something distinctive, premium, and aligned with a modern, creative audience.

The Concept

This wasn’t about producing a standard trophy.

The concept was to create a sculptural piece of art, using material as the hero.

At the core of the design was Midton’s Remade recycled acrylic — not hidden, but celebrated. By pushing the casting process, we introduced:

  • Organic bubbles
  • Fractured, crack-like textures
  • Depth and movement within the material

The result is a piece that feels alive, constantly changing depending on light, angle, and environment.

Material Innovation

Rather than using recycled material as a compromise, this project redefines it.

Midton’s Remade acrylic transforms sustainability into a design feature:

  • ♻️ Made using recycled acrylic content
  • 🎨 Engineered to create visual texture and uniqueness
  • 💎 High optical finish despite complex internal structures

This is recycled material that looks premium, not “recycled.”

It challenges the perception that sustainable products need to be muted or uniform, instead delivering something bold, expressive, and beautiful

The Range

Main Awards

The primary award features a tall, sculptural form:

  • Strong geometric silhouette
  • Deep black base with printed branding
  • A sharp red accent line introducing the event’s brand colour
  • Internal textures that catch and refract light

Designed specifically to photograph beautifully, ensuring winners naturally share and promote the award across social platforms.

Nominee Medals

To elevate the full experience, every nominee received a medal:

  • Crafted from the same Remade acrylic
  • Consistent visual identity with the main awards
  • Designed as a keepsake, not just a participation token

This ensured every attendee left with something considered, premium, and on-brand.

It challenges the perception that sustainable products need to be muted or uniform, instead delivering something bold, expressive, and beautiful

Super Influencer Trophy

For the Super Influencer of the Year, we created a one-off statement piece:

  • Larger, more sculptural form
  • Increased complexity in the internal textures
  • A true centrepiece, blurring the line between award and art object

This piece was designed to feel iconic and unique, reinforcing the prestige of the category, promote the award across social platforms.

The Result

The final collection delivered on every level:

  • 📸 Highly shareable — designed for social media moments
  • Visually distinctive — instantly recognisable from other awards
  • ♻️ Sustainably driven — without compromising on luxury
  • 🎯 Brand-led design — integrating colour, identity, and storytelling

Most importantly, it created an award that people don’t just receive —
they keep, display, and talk about.

I absolutely love the awards, they’re beautifully made and truly feel like works of art. Thank you, Midton.

Key Takeaway

This project demonstrates what happens when material innovation meets creative ambition:

Recycled doesn’t have to be subtle.
It can be bold, expressive, and unforgettable.
