Overview

In 2025, Wrexham AFC, one of the world’s oldest and most storied football clubs, partnered with Midton to create a unique range of fan memorabilia. The Own a Piece of History collection gave fans the chance to take home a genuine piece of the club’s hallowed turf, goal nets, and pitch trimmings—preserved forever in Midton’s bespoke acrylic designs.

The Challenge

Wrexham AFC was experiencing unprecedented global attention, boosted by its Hollywood ownership and successive promotions. The club wanted to capture this momentum by offering fans something more than merchandise—an authentic connection to the club’s legacy.

The challenge was twofold:

  • Preserve authentic pitch materials (turf and nets) in a way that would remain intact and visually striking.
  • Create a premium, limited-edition collection that could generate excitement in retail, online, and VIP gifting markets.

The Solution

Midton’s design and production team developed a collection of exclusive memorabilia pieces:

  • Limited Edition Turf Cubes – 1864 pieces (a nod to the club’s founding year), each embedding a section of the Racecourse Ground turf inside clear acrylic. Designed with Wrexham’s brand marque in red, green, black-and-gold, and a white pitch-inspired top.
  • Goal Net Displays – Acrylic cubes encasing sections of the club’s historic goal net, connecting fans to iconic match moments.
  • Smaller Memorabilia Items – Keyrings, and mementos containing grass clippings and Wrexham branding, designed for accessibility and mass fan engagement.

The Midton team personally travelled to Wrexham to collect, document, and transport the turf and nets to its Scottish foundry. There, the materials were preserved, prepared, and embedded within acrylic—ensuring each piece would stand the test of time.
