Devastated at watching the effects of global warming, deforestation and wildfires, we feel the need to do more. Since October 2020 Midton has continued to invest a portion of its sales into reforestation.

We plant trees for every order placed and another for every £100 spent, the equivalent of 1% of all sales.
To deliver this goal, Midton will be supporting schemes on a national and international level, alongside our own local planting. We have partnered with Trees for Life in the UK and One Tree Planted is our international partner.
Everytime you choose to place your order with Midton you are driving forward projects that reduce carbon, re-build habitats and create flood defenses. Together we can make the earth great again.

One Tree Planted
Midton’s heat energy is generated by our biomass boiler, which was installed in the year 2015. A substantial investment of £95,000 was made into this project, and our locally sourced woodchip is procured from a Community Interest Company known as Our Power.
Working with reforestation partners in North America, South America, Asia, and Africa, One Tree Planted has planted 11 million trees since 2014 (correct as of August 2020). In 2019, the charity had projects in 17 different countries. These projects are important not just due to planting trees, but they also aid in the creation of jobs and the building of communities.
Midton support One Tree Planted by funding one tree for every order placed. To step it up a notch, we fund an additional tree for every £100 spent.
What does that mean in hard numbers?
If your order is purchased for £1,500 we will plant 1 tree for placing the order and an additional 15 trees for the value of the order. With Midton completing over 1,200 orders per year we could be planting 20,000 trees per year!
How will that money be spent?
Seasonally, we contact our Account Manager at One Tree Planted and select a project to support. Once funds are transferred, we will post on our blog and notify all clients involved in that funding round about the project they’ve helped support.
As a director, I firmly believe in the power of responsible business practices. By dedicating a percentage of our turnover to tree planting initiatives, we play an active role in combating climate change.

National
Trees for Life
While international tree planting efforts contribute to our volume of planted trees, we are equally committed to promoting and supporting tree planting within our own country. In line with this objective, we have established a partnership with Trees for Life, actively supporting their mission to reforest the stunning Scottish Highlands.
Local
We are filled with immense enthusiasm and, in addition to our support, we are eager to personally engage in the restoration efforts. Hence, the dedicated Midton team will actively participate in replanting a section of cleared trees located within our own site. This project will serve as a transformative endeavour, replacing the once-existing pine woodland with a diverse array of native hardwood trees.
